Trust and Obey

As we face the ups and downs of our homeschool day, let's remember to trust and obey the One who has called us to Himself.

The famous hymn says...
When we walk with the Lord, in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey!”
(J.H. Sammis, 1846-1919)
When you received the gift of salvation, you trusted Christ, and Him alone to save you. You acknowledged that you are a sinner, needing God's grace. So, you placed your faith and trust in Jesus Christ. What joy this brings!

Now, as you walk down the Christian road, you run into some challenges. These are things that might try to steal your joy. (You know, the daily demands of a homeschooling Mom, the constant need to have a servant's heart towards your children, the stress of getting it all done, and the continual realization that you have a hard time submitting to your husband!) Whose strength are you attempting to live in? Are you trusting Jesus Christ?
"I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.” Gal. 2:20
Now, how about the obedience part of the hymn above? Let's do some examination of ourselves. Are we obeying the One who has called us? Don't get me wrong… we cannot earn our salvation, but the fruit of our lives will demonstrate if our faith is real. Jesus says it this way: “If you love Me, you will keep my commandments.” (John 14:15) Do you act, think and speak as Jesus Christ, your Master would want you to? God promises to bless hearts that are willing to obey. “…blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.” (Luke 11:28)

As we face the ups and downs of our homeschool day, let's remember to trust and obey the One who has called us to Himself. In the weeks and months ahead, I will attempt to help you trust our Savior, and discover the blessings of obedience.

Talk to you again soon!

Serving the Master with you,

Mrs. Titus2
